As other captives are set free, the son declares, "We fought to get her back"

According to bustlingnews.com, the son of 75-year-old prisoner Ada Sagi said that he intends to tell his mother "how hard we fought" for her freedom and give her the largest embrace possible.

On the fifth day of the truce, two Thais and ten Israelis (including Ada Sagi) were released. The Israelis included nine women and a girl.

Just after his mother and the others were turned over to the Red Cross on Tuesday evening, we spoke to Noam Sagi, a British-Israeli.

"It really is a beautiful, amazing moment," he commented.

Accompanying Ada on her release were the following individuals: Tamar Metzger (78), Ditza Hayman (84), Norlin Babdila (60), Ophelia Edith Roitman (77), Rimon Kirsht (36), and Merav Tal (53).

Mia Leimberg, 17, Gabriela Leimberg, 59, and Clara Marman, 63, were all released from prison.

"It's such a huge relief," expressed Noam Sagi. I just got off the phone with her over video chat. Sharp, humorous, and witty—that's her. She stays true to herself. This has me ecstatic.

"I just want to feel her and hug her and I want her to know how hard we fought to get to this day and she will know forever how loved she is."

Her "looks good, she was very happy" was his comment. He claims, however, that she is ignorant of many things.

"She doesn't know she doesn't have a home to go back to, she doesn't know so many of her friends were murdered."

"We will have to pick up the puzzle and put everything in place... but for now, today, it's really just about the joy," according to him.

Noam and I met for the first time at his north London home two days after his mother was forcibly removed from the kibbutz of Nir Oz, close to the Israeli border with Gaza. He showed us a Hamas-shot video showing his mom's house surrounded by gunmen and her burning car.

In his efforts to secure his mother's release, he has now spoken with the prime minister of the United Kingdom, members of parliament, addressed demonstrations, and communicated with diplomats and the Red Cross.

Ada had taught others Arabic so they could connect with their Palestinian neighbors before she was abducted. She is an Arabic speaker.

Her son recounted her as a peace activist who "fought all their lives for good neighbouring relationships" and belonging to a community. The week preceding her abduction, Ada was supposed to celebrate her 75th birthday with a trip to London.

His previous statement to bustlingnews.com equated to "psychological terror" while he awaited word on whether she would be released.

"Like a leaf on a nightly standby, I await a list. Do we accept? Is it over? His words came out as "Russian roulette to the heart" as he described the agonizing ordeal.

While others in the UK tore down posters depicting the abducted, Noam conversed with the lampposts that bore images of his mother.

Ditza Heiman, 84 years old and a founder of the kibbutz Nir Oz, which was invaded by Hamas on October 7th, was one of the other hostages who were released on Tuesday.

A 77-year-old woman named Ofelia Roitman, who emigrated to Israel from Argentina in the 1980s, was also abducted from Nir Oz.

While Hamas attacked, she sent a message begging for aid. According to a video her daughter made, subsequent searches of her residence turned up other dead, but her mother was nowhere to be discovered.

A daughter of one of the five Argentinian-Israelis who had been hiding in their safe room—along with Gabriela Leimberg, Clara Merman, and her daughter Mia—was reportedly texting with her father.

On her way to celebrate Kibbutz Nirim's 70th anniversary, 60-year-old Noralin "Nataly" Babadilla stopped by. Her spouse was assassinated. On the Bring Them Home website, her younger brother Exo recounted her final words to him, saying, "I'm shaking; maybe I won't come home."

While everything was going on, 53-year-old Meirav Tal was in Nir Oz seeing her partner Yair. Yagil and Or, who were children of Yair, were released on Monday after being abducted along with the couple. In Gaza, Yair is still held captive by the Hamas.
